While the adoption of the F-16s will not affect the war in the short term, it will bring Ukraine more in line with NATO’s military capabilities, which “is very important for the future,” the minister said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It actually takes at least 2-3 years to become an F-16 pilot. Procuring F-16s is not an easy task for Ukraine either, whose pilots and technicians have no previous experience with Western fighters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The whole effort has a medium- and long-term horizon, with the aim of bringing Ukraine closer to Western defense and security structures.
